A Pact to Substitute Scrolling with Friendship

We originally connected because we love each other's writing. As our friendship grew, we started swapping links to articles or art that we found inspiring, followed by long phone calls to discuss how they related to our lives.

"I wasted two hours scrolling through Instagram yesterday," Allison confessed during a chat about adult attention spans. "I didn't even make dinner, Alice! I ate cereal again!"

"Oh my god," Alice said. "You do that too? I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one."

In the beginning, it took a little brain retraining to pick up the phone and have a real conversation instead of 'getting to know each other' via quick texts and social media updates. It was a little awkward at first, but what we gained was so incredibly valuable that we knew we had to share it.

Now That We Think About It is our invitation to you to slow down, have a laugh, and dig deeper with us. Every episode is inspired by a cultural touchstone—a book, an article, a film, a song, or a current life event—resulting in a completely unscripted, relatable conversation.
